SATHIANATHAN REMAINS NATIONAL FOOTBALL COACH WITH CONDITIONS
Bernama - Tuesday, December 16

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 15 (Bernama) -- National soccer coach B.Sathianathan's contract was extended for another year by the Football Association of Malaysia

(FAM) but with two conditions.

FAM deputy president, Khairy Jamaluddin, said the conditions are that he improve Malaysia's Fifa ranking and improve the national squad's performance in the Asian Cup qualifiers next month.
"The committee (for the national team) felt that it was not fair for Sathianathan to be evaluated based on the team's performance in the Suzuki AFF Cup given that it has not been a year since he was national coach," Khairy said after the national team committee's four-hour meeting at Wisma FAM.
He said although dissatisfied with the failure in Thailand, FAM this time around did not want to make a hasty decision and the decision made was the best for now.
"In the middle of next year and in November next year we will decide if his contract should be ended or not," he said.
